Overview

Under direct supervision, primarily performs basic research or lab activities similar to a Research Assistant 1 or Lab Aide. This position will focus on providing husbandry, data collection and tissue sample preparation for banking or analyses.

Responsibilities

• Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Undergraduate Program
• Experience with laboratory animal research
• Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and oral formats.
• Ability to work together with other lab staff in a positive and productive manner.
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to communicate effectively with Veterinary staff
• Ability to perform basic animal husbandry
• Ability to perform basic laboratory tasks such a pipetting, preparing chemical solutions, cleaning laboratory glassware
• Ability to prioritize work demands, and coordinate research protocols with other staff
• Organizational skills and careful attention to details to satisfactorily perform job duties
• High level of self-motivation and integrity

Qualifications

• Courses in Neuroscience, Psychology
• Experience with animal behavioral protocols
• Experience in reading and summarizing scientific manuscripts
• Analysis of behavioral data
