Overview
Under direct supervision, primarily performs basic research or lab activities similar to a Research Assistant 1 or Lab Aide. This position will focus on providing husbandry, data collection and tissue sample preparation for banking or analyses.
Responsibilities
Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Undergraduate Program
Experience with laboratory animal research
Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and oral formats.
Ability to work together with other lab staff in a positive and productive manner.
Excellent collaboration skills and ability to communicate effectively with Veterinary staff
Ability to perform basic animal husbandry
Ability to perform basic laboratory tasks such a pipetting, preparing chemical solutions, cleaning laboratory glassware
Ability to prioritize work demands, and coordinate research protocols with other staff
Organizational skills and careful attention to details to satisfactorily perform job duties
High level of self-motivation and integrity
Qualifications
Courses in Neuroscience, Psychology
Experience with animal behavioral protocols
Experience in reading and summarizing scientific manuscripts
