Job Description:

National Auto Research (NAR), a division of Hearst Business Media and a member of the Hearst Organization is looking for a Contract Support Specialist. Commonly referred to as “Black Book”, NAR is THE leading provider of electronic and web-based technology tools used in vehicle pricing and automotive data throughout the automotive industry. The Contract Support Specialist is responsible for supporting business operations in analyzing and facilitating company contract requirements, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, corporate and compliance policies and business unit procedures. This position works with external clients and internal business teams on objectives relating to contract activity and is an alternative point of contact for communications with legal, finance and business team disciplines for resolution of contract issues and disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

Supports the Contract Administrator in all facets of contract negotiation, management and administration duties, ensuring that contracts are negotiated, administered and closed in accordance with corporate and compliance policy and procedure.


  • Under the supervision of the Contract Administrator, drafts forms and templates of contracts and agreements consistent with regulatory and enterprise policies.

  • Maintains the official record of negotiations and accurate files of all contractual documents and correspondence.

  • Maintain detailed and organized files for each contract which will include the original contract, relevant correspondence, changes/deviations, amendments, and clarifications

  • Draft and manage all contract renewals and price increase notifications per contract specifications.

  • Prepare and revise client contracts and confidentiality agreements in accordance with Hearst contracting standards

  • Assists in audits, reviews, and other special projects.

Required Skills

 


  • BA in related field or relevant work experience

  • 2+ years of business, finance, procurement, contracts, legal or project management work

  • Paralegal certificate preferred.

  • Experience working with Intellectual Property (IP) Contracts preferred

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel. 

  • Salesforce experience and CLM systems (a plus).
