Job Description:

The Department of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering (ECEE) welcomes applications for a tenure-track professor. This role is targeted at the Assistant Professor rank; however, qualified candidates may be considered at the Associate or Full Professor rank. While we will consider candidates in all areas of electrical and computer engineering, we are particularly looking for candidates that can contribute to our already comprehensive programs in power and controls. We are especially interested in interdisciplinary candidates whose research bridges traditional areas with applications in robotics, quantum, biotechnology, artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML), semiconductor design and fabrication, and sustainability.
The University of Colorado Boulder is committed to building a culturally diverse community of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to contributing to an inclusive campus environment. We are an Equal Opportunity employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.

The University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) is one of Colorado's flagship public institutions and among the most research-active public universities in the country. The College of Engineering and Applied Science is the second largest school or college on the CU Boulder campus, is ranked as a top 10 public graduate engineering program and a top 20 undergraduate engineering program, with multiple specialty programs ranked in the top 20 as well. Our approximately 250 tenure-track, 115 instructional-track, and 30 research-track faculty serve more than 6,000 undergraduate students, 1,300 master's students, and 1,000 PhD students. Our college recently updated its strategic vision to include three core foci: (i) Research & Innovation, (ii) Education, and (iii) Inclusion. We assert that a diverse faculty is necessary for achieving these goals and our campus diversity plan. We believe that our college's success requires faculty who actively work to create an inclusive culture within the college.

The ECEE Department includes 2 University Distinguished Professors, 8 endowed chairs, 37 tenure/tenure-track faculty, 5 instructional faculty, and 4 research faculty. Faculty honors include 16 IEEE Fellows, 2 members of the US National Academy of Engineering, a National Science Foundation (NSF) Presidential Faculty Fellow, and 22 NSF CAREER Award recipients. The ECEE program consists of about 450 undergraduate and 450 graduate students and has averaged over $14 million in annual research expenditures. The department maintains close ties with local industry and national institutes/labs such as NIST, NREL, and NOAA.
