Job Description:

TOWNSHIP MANAGER – STROUD TOWNSHIP (population 19,800), Monroe County, PA seeks an experienced leader to serve as its Township Manager. The Manager serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Township, managing the day-to-day operations and activities of all municipal departments, employees, and independent contractors, and reports to the three-member Board of Supervisors. The Manager implements and administers the directives of the Board of Supervisors.

The Township encompasses 31 square miles and maintains over 86 miles of township roads and 12 municipal parks plus protected open space, and is a member of a regional police department and recreation commission. The Township is served by a volunteer fire department, sewer authority and volunteers serving on various boards and commissions. The Township operates under a current $11.3 million general fund budget and funds approximately 48% of the $10.4 million regional police department.

Candidates should have (1) municipal government or management level, private sector experience; (2) outstanding interpersonal skills; (3) strong financial skills; (4) Bachelor’s Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and (6) strong communication and community relations skills. The Township offers a starting annual salary range of $85,000 to $95,000 which will depend upon the qualifications and experience of the selected individual.
