Hours: 1st shift (8am to 5pm)


Length of Engagement: Open Ended Contract


Rate: Competitive and Dependent on Experience



Job Description:



The Medical Assistant serves as the initial point of contact for patient care, handling both administrative and patient care responsibilities. This role involves a variety of tasks, including moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. The Medical Assistant also performs computations and typically works on semi-routine assignments.



Required Qualifications:



•1-3 years of Medical Assistant experience in direct patient care (back-office).


•Applicable state licensure in the field of study (RMA/CMA).


•Current CPR certification.


•Less than 2 years of professional leadership experience.


•This position is part of the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected, you will be required to undergo TB screening.


•Must have excellent communication skills and be a team player.


•Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.


•Proficiency with MS Outlook and basic computer knowledge.


•Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.



Preferred Qualifications:



•High School Diploma


•Bilingual proficiency


•Hands-on professional experience in phlebotomy


•Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)


•Familiarity with HEDIS measures and reporting


•Active Medical Assistant Certification or Registration from one of the following:


oAmerican Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)


oNational Healthcareer Association (NHA)


oAmerican Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)


oNational Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)


oAmerican Medical Technologists (AMT)


•Active license from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)


Job Responsibilities:


•Discuss symptoms with patients, gather and input information into the electronic medical records (EMR) system.


•Take and record vital signs.


•Administer injections and perform diagnostic tests.


•Collect specimens and draw blood.


•Sterilize and clean equipment, maintain examination rooms at an outpatient care site.


•Work closely with Physicians and Nurses.


•Provide direct patient care as allowed by active certification.


•Interpret area/department policies and methods for completing assignments.


•Identify work expectations and quality standards within defined parameters, with some latitude over prioritization and timing.


•Operate under minimal direction.


•Follow standard policies and practices, allowing for some interpretation, deviation, and independent discretion.
