Who we are looking for

This position will be responsible for software development and software delivery to agreed timescales working with both the business groups and internal IT organization. Focus will be on In-house application development, architecture, design, cloud migrations, tech obsolescence, risk & compliance, and management of team resources to deliver associated solutions. Your goal will be to develop a good working relationship with the global business teams to meet their technology requirements to strengthen and grow the business.. This role is based in Boston, MA, USA and will work with State Street client and business users from all regions.

What you will be responsible for

As an Application Development Lead, you will


  • Manage software development and delivery for Global Markets business groups being part of the larger software engineering organization spanning North America, EMEA and APAC.

  • You and your teams will partner with our product team, business operations team, technology infrastructure teams, risk team, compliance teams, and many others to provide IT solutions and thought leadership.

  • You will be responsible for partnering with our wider global technology organization to propose technical solutions, implementation plans and technical financial models to support the successful operations of current and new clients.

  • Strong understanding of Financial Services. Knowledge of Custody/Prime Brokerage/Agency Lending/Swaps will be a plus.

  • Effective communication and the ability to work as a collaborator within a global team are essential.

  • Expertise in problem management and problem solving.

  • Ability to pro-actively identify issues & risks to be able to resolve in a timely manner is crucial.

  • Outstanding software development and delivery skills.

  • Ability to support both vendor applications hosted internally and externally as well as in-house developed applications.

  • Experience with SQL, .NET, JAVA as well as Agile methodology, JIRA, AWS,

  • Experience developing on public cloud environment and/or experience with migration to a public cloud environment a strong plus.

  • Having a vision on Architecture & design is a required skillset


Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • 5-7 years of experience in software development and delivery

  • Experience in working as a team lead or lead developer or manager


Additional requirements (Good to have)

  • Participation in agile development working model.

  • Experience in working on Platforms such as Murex/Global One/Summit/Calypso and similar products

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $142,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
