Job Purpose/Summary:



The Director, Deli Marketing and Customer Planning will lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of customer-centric marketing initiatives for Tyson Foods' Deli Poultry and Prepared Foods sales teams. This role requires a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape, along with the ability to drive profitable growth through innovative marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional efforts to develop and implement customer-centric plans that drive sales, enhance brand equity, and deliver strong financial results.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



Strategic Marketing Leadership:


  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with Tyson Foods' overall business objectives. Lead the creation of annual marketing plans, including promotional calendars, product launches, and customer-specific initiatives, with a focus on increasing market share and driving profitable growth.

Customer Engagement & Relationship Management:


  • Collaborate closely with key customers to understand their business needs, co-create marketing programs, and build long-term partnerships. Present the One Deli strategic plan to senior leadership and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with customer goals and enhancing brand loyalty.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:


  • Work seamlessly with Sales, Business Unit team members, Innovation, Supply Chain, Finance, and Insights teams to ensure marketing strategies are operationally feasible and financially sound. Lead the coordination of new product launches through the sales team, ensuring all aspects are integrated and executed flawlessly.

Financial Oversight & Performance Tracking:


  • Manage the MDF customer and product budget allocated to the deli sales organization, ensuring expenditures align with business priorities and deliver a strong return on investment. Monitor and analyze the financial performance of marketing initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results.

Team Leadership & Development:


  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing customer planning team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability. Set clear goals, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional growth within the team.

Product Development & Process Improvement:


  • Partner with innovation and business units to drive the development and execution of new product plans, from concept through to market launch. Lead cross-functional projects aimed at improving the efficiency of existing processes and implementing new technologies to support deli sales teams.

Creative Strategy & Presentation:


  • Oversee relationships with creative agencies to develop marketing materials that support customer and product marketing efforts. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations for internal and external audiences, supporting the sales team in business reviews and negotiations.




Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field

  • 10+ years of experience in customer planning, marketing, or related roles within the food industry, with a focus on deli or prepared foods.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful customer-centric marketing strategies.

  • Strong understanding of the retail and foodservice landscape, including key customer needs and market dynamics.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.

• Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, with a strong focus on results.


• Proficiency in data analysis and leveraging insights to inform strategic decisions.
