Job Description:

THE OPPORTUNITYThe Copyeditor is responsible for editing submitted teaching cases and teaching notes in accordance with the HBP Style Guide and preparing the submitted documents for publication to The Babson Collection and distribution through Harvard Business Publishing and the Case Centre.The goal of this position is to help perfect the teaching case studies and teaching notes produced by Babson faculty and ensure the documents adhere to industry standards and guidelines and are free from any grammatical or technical errors.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Edits submitted teaching cases and teaching notes for grammar, syntax, flow and in accordance with the HBP Style Guide.

Prepares the submitted documents for publication and distribution through internal and external organizations.

Corresponds and collaborates with faculty authors to provide advice and guidance regarding the necessary edits required to develop the final product in compliance with industry standards regarding teaching case studies and teaching notes, as well as the HBP Style Guide.

Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

Minimum Bachelor's degree in English, communications, writing, or a related field.

Exceptional grammar, punctuation, language, and writing skills as well as the ability to adapt to different author voices and styles.

Minimum two years of professional copy editing or proof-reader experience and familiarity with standard style guides. Specific experience in case study writing and/or copyediting and the HBP Style Guide, a plus.

Good communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously.

Proficient in Microsoft Word

Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.
