Description

MELE Associates, Inc. is seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented Radio Frequency (RF) Telecommunications Systems Specialist with a strong background in all aspects of telecommunications systems to support an important mission within the Office of the Architect of the Capital (AOC), in Washington, DC. This full-time position is contingent upon contract award.

RF Telecommunications Specialist will provide on-site technical support in the areas of Radio Frequency (RF) systems and radio programming, maintenance, and management; requirements gathering, and application development, support, and administration.

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Repairs, tests, installs, and maintains telecommunications components to include microprocessor controlled analog and digital transceivers, mobile emergency lighting systems, and telecommunications consoles; and provides liaison with vendors in solving routine problems with communications components.
  • Receives and responds to reports of trouble related to telecommunications and data equipment to include voice and data equipment, mobile transceivers, base stations, and repeater equipment; and uses electronic testing equipment to diagnose and solve equipment problems.
  • Assists in designing, configuring, and implementing network communications products; operates personal computers to program channel frequencies, options, and features and to align portable, mobile, base station, repeater control, repeater, console, and other microprocessorcontrolled communications equipment; and deploys and supports emergency communications and related equipment during emergencies.
  • Assists in training staff in the use of testing equipment and standard operating procedures for telecommunications and electronic equipment; and provides technical guidance in troubleshooting, alignment, and repair procedures.
  • Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in the administration, programming, asset management, spectrum management, operation/maintenance of a robust police/law enforcement/military Radio/RF/Satellite Communications/Mobile Telecommunications systems.

Location:

This position in Washington, DC is a full-time on-site position.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Salary:

Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
