The Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the University of Pittsburgh is recruiting a Senior Research Coordinator. The Senior Research Coordinator will perform clinical research services for All of Us PA; a community-based research initiative. The Coordinator will conduct protocol procedures including measuring vital signs, biospecimen collection and administering questionnaires in multiple clinical settings including dedicated enrollment clinics, physician practices, and hospital settings and in community partner settings from a designated catchment area. The position will serve as team lead for the performance site supervising research personnel. Eligible candidate must be able to work with diverse populations of participants and staff. They will interact with potential participants along the continuum of the study including engagement, recruitment, retention, collecting and processing biospecimen samples.
Manages patient/subject recruitment for multiple, simultaneous studies and identifies and enrolls patients into clinical trials utilizing appropriate enrollment standards. Oversees day-to-day implementation of study protocols/clinical trials as well as medical histories and lab values. Performs technical nursing duties and neuropsychological testing, responds to all medical emergencies, prepares accurate documentation for human research studies, and assists in the preparation of abstracts and manuscripts for publication. Ensures all protocol and regulatory standards adherence.
Ability to operate a PC and communicate effectively, verbally, and in written form with people from diverse backgrounds. Telephone skills, computer and keyboard skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills. Ability to be flexible in location assignments. Ability to participate in face-to-face or virtual meetings. Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
The position will require standing or sitting for work with reasonable mobility to navigate location site and clinical exam space. Sight and manual dexterity are required to handle and process biological specimens. Ability to move throughout campus to attend face-to-face meetings and or participate in virtual meetings or lift reports weighing approximately 15lbs.
