The Associate Financial Analyst - Capital Management is responsible for performing various duties in support of financial modeling and financial analysis to F&G's Capital team. This role supports members of the Capital Management team with financial modeling, financial analysis and valuation as it relates to the company's capital position.
Organization
The Associate Financial Analyst will report to the AVP, Capital Management Analytics. This position will collaborate with other members of the Capital Management team and other departments across the organization including Investments, Actuarial, Risk and Finance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform various duties and tasks for actual and forecast processes to support financial modeling and financial analysis to F&G's Capital team. This includes activity such as:
Requesting and obtaining inputs from other teams
Review of inputs for reasonability
Update of financial models with inputs
Complete cross-checks and validations
Generate analytics to evaluate trends in actual and forecast results
Support the analytics function and process to assess the company's capital position
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and/or internal control enhancements
Assist with the coordination of close and forecasting activities.
Experience and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Internship in Finance or related field preferred
Life insurance or financial services experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
Highly motivated and demonstrated ability to take initiative
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
Experience understanding key data
Ability to successfully work on multiple tasks/projects to meet critical deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to create complete and accurate documentation of work performed
Strong problem-solving skills
Other Requirements
Perform other functions, duties, and projects as assigned
Regular and punctual attendance
Some travel may be required (less than 10%)
