General Purpose

The Systems Engineer is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing the IT systems of PACS and its remote clients. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams and other IT teams to identify requirements, suggest technical solutions, and implement technologies effectively.

Additionally, a strong focus on automating IT processes for increased efficiency and supporting cloud environments is essential.

Essential Duties

• Design, implement, and maintain IT systems infrastructure with a focus on cloud integration and optimization.

• Ensure smooth operation and optimization of both on-premise and cloud-based network and server environments.

• Perform regular system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance to minimize downtime and resolve technical issues promptly.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement new technologies that align with business objectives.

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.

• Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, and offer timely solutions.

• Conduct system upgrades, installations, and configurations to keep the infrastructure up to date.

• Assist in the evaluation and selection of hardware and software solutions to meet business needs.

• Manage and optimize virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

• Administer and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services.

• Follow a methodology of Continual Improvement/Continual Deployment with an emphasis on optimization and automation.

• Implement and manage IT security measures to protect systems from cyber threats.

• Document system configurations, procedures, and changes meticulously to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.

Qualification

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience may be evaluated in place of education. • Proven experience as an IT Systems Engineer or similar role, preferably in a multi-site environment. • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, infrastructure components, and systems administration. • Proficiency in Windows and Linux server environments. • Extensive experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). • Strong proficiency in managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Knowledge of IT security best practices and tools. • Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is highly desirable.

Mathematical Skills

Reasoning Ability

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) is a plus.
