The Senior Cloud Engineer will be pivotal in advancing the Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) capabilities for NIWC Atlantic, focusing on integrating full-scale CSSP services within commercial and government cloud environments. This role involves deploying and refining cloud architecture to support multi-impact level operations and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense cybersecurity standards. The engineer will leverage advanced technologies in big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to enhance cybersecurity measures. This position requires collaboration with multiple cloud service providers and continuous innovation to adapt to evolving cyber threats, ensuring robust defense mechanisms are in place to support diverse Department of Defense and commercial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

· Administer and maintain Linux systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.

· Manage network protocols, firewalls, routing, and access control lists (ACLs) to ensure secure and efficient network operations.

· Oversee and maintain container environments, ensuring proper deployment, scaling, and monitoring.

· Administer and optimize cloud infrastructure, leveraging various cloud platforms for cost-effective and scalable solutions.

· Manage and maintain VMware vSphere environments, including virtual machine provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting.

· Administer Windows systems and Active Directory, ensuring proper user management, group policies, and security best practices.

· Understand and apply Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum, and Sprint methodologies for efficient project management and software development lifecycle and sustainment processes.

· Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.

· Proficient in scripting languages (Linux and Windows) for automating tasks, troubleshooting, and system administration.

· Possess a solid understanding of software development principles, enabling effective collaboration with development teams.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

· Ability to obtain a security clearance, preferably at the Top Secret/SCI level.

· Must have 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and operations

· Experience developing technology solutions, with a strong background in system administration, networking, and cloud technologies.

· Active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (at least one of the following certifications in good standing: CCNA, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)

· Proven expertise in administering and troubleshooting Linux, Windows, and virtualization environments.

· Experience in cloud container security, implementing Kubernetes in enterprise environments

· Hands-on experience with cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, and IBM Cloud.

· Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, DoD Information Security and Cybersecurity regulations, and risk management frameworks.

· Ability to deliver detailed implementation plans for systems and architecture and execute those plans.

· Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, routing, and security best practices.

· Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) implementations and managing SAFe environments.

· Capability to suggest, implement, and support new ideas or technologies to improve CSSP services and operations.

· Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
