Job Description:

Job Summary:

The position is responsible for assessing materials for construction project finishes for our Amesbury Manufacturing Operation. This includes quoting, order processing, procurement, and shipping. The role involves interfacing with sales and coordinating the manufacturing and delivery of products to clients.

******This is an on-site position at our manufacturing facility in Amesbury.*****

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate regularly with sales personnel regarding customer purchase orders and quotations.
  • Process customer purchase orders and quotes (including bill of materials and routings) through the M2M system.
  • Provide order confirmations and quotes to customers and the sales team.
  • Schedule customer purchases through production to meet delivery dates by coordinating with the manufacturing shop supervisor, issuing materials to jobs, and verifying inventory.
  • Track the progression of customer purchase orders through the manufacturing process and update sales regularly.
  • Prepare documentation and arrange freight for local, domestic, and international shipments upon order completion.
  • Track/manage outbound shipments to ensure accurate delivery and coordinate with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Place purchase orders with vendors for products, materials, and logistics services.
  • Manage purchase orders, including expediting when necessary to meet delivery dates.
  • Plan for products, materials, and coordination services, and review inventory to ensure appropriate levels are in stock.
  • Develop strong vendor relationships and participate in vendor development meetings and improvement plans.
  • Trace delinquent arrivals from vendors for materials and supplies as needed.
  • Assist in other day-to-day functions and special projects as required.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
• Construction degree or manufacturing discipline preferred, and/or a minimum of two to five years of experience.
• Proficient in MS Office Applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Process-minded with strong data analytical and organizational skills.
• Problem solver: ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
• Attention to detail; thoroughness in accomplishing tasks, ensuring the job gets done right.
• Flexible; ability to change course quickly based on the company's changing needs.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is frequently required to move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other standard office equipment such as copy machines, phones, photocopier, fax machines and computer printers. The staff member in this position frequently communicates internally and externally; must be able to exchange accurate information via phone, email, and/or in person. Specific vision abilities apply including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

This position operates in a clerical office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
