Maintenance Worker at HOMELAND CENTER in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

Are you an experienced maintenance worker with an ability to perform a range of general maintenance and repair tasks? Do you have a basic familiarity or desire to learn about plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, HVAC, and other building systems? Do you have excellent problem-solving and communication skills?

As a Maintenance/Utility worker for Homeland Center, you would contribute to our community of caring by providing our residents with a safe and comfortable living environment by ensuring that our facility is fully operational.

This opening is for Second Shift, 3pm-11pm, and requires a valid Pennsylvania Driver's license.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Valid Pennsylvania Drivers' License
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Related experience preferred.
On-the-job training offered.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods standing and walking.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
