W2 only.

18+ month renewable term contract. Potential to extend/option to hire.

Client: A major global corporation and a leader in their industry operating over 350 manufacturing facilities with annual revenue earning over $24B and employing over 15,000.

Overview:

The position will support scoping, engineering and design execution, and implementation of electrical, controls and automation engineering for a manufacturing facility expansion capital project. Provide oversight of engineering and design execution by 3rd party resources and provide technical support to the factory engineering team in support of the execution of capital projects.

Role:
  • Lead electrical, controls, and automation engineering and design for capital projects, working with a cross functional team of engineers that includes corporate engineering, factory engineering, 3rd party engineering and design consultants.
  • Lead the execution of electrical, controls, and automation engineering and design deliverables, including power distribution single-line diagrams, network topology diagrams, control panel layouts with bill of material and schematic wiring diagrams, safety logic tables used during safety validation, construction specifications, and development of construction and integrator scopes of work.
  • Develop capital project scopes of work, support the creation of engineering and design project schedules from engineering through commissioning, and create requests for proposal (RFP) for capital project engineering and design services for the electrical, controls, automation, and integration scopes of work.
  • Provide oversight and technical support for the creation of project engineering and design deliverables being executed by factory engineering, local project teams, and 3rd party engineering and design consultants and contractors.
  • Support responses to consultant and contractor requests for information (RFIs) during engineering, construction, and commissioning.
  • Provide engineering support to the construction team during construction closeout activities and commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical coaching and training of factory engineering resources, local PMO engineering resources, and 3rd party consultants on project execution and electrical and automation requirements.
  • Support the review and approval of project approval drawings and participate in factory acceptance tests.
  • Verify that proposals, approval drawings and equipment meet the requirements of the technical specifications and the overall intent of the design.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Associates Degree in Engineering.
  • 7 - 10+ years of experience with control systems design in a food, beverage, pharmaceutical or chemical industrial manufacturing environment including startup and commissioning of new production lines.
  • 2 years experience with multi-million dollar CAPEX projects and new construction builds.
  • Strong experience performing capital project management functions such as managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Competency in Siemens PLC design, programming, and implementation.
  • Low voltage (communication) networking infrastructure.
  • Experience ensuring all supplied power in building is correct/to code.
  • Experience ensuring all required safeties are installed, documented and verified to work.
  • Competency in safety instrumented system design, programming, and validation.
  • Drawing development, execution/audit, specifications, and RFP/RFI.
  • Validation of installation to 2D/3D models.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electric Code), electrical installation and wiring practices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with machine risk assessments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with power distribution is a plus.
  • Competency in PC operating systems and industrial networking.
  • Competency in use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
