We are seeking a Level 1B Roadway Specialist to join our Houston, TX team! Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Roadway construction testing and inspection, document control, reporting, and assisting the Engineer as needed. • Performing tests both in the field and laboratory for hot mix. • Complex and routine construction inspection of roadways and materials to ensure compliance with construction contract specifications. • Contract document control and reporting, including field measurements, calculations, and computations. • Assisting the Project Manager or Project Engineer, as needed. • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: • 1+ years minimum experience in highway hot-mix construction inspection • Experience at reading and comprehending plans, specifications and test procedures • Knowledge and experience working with material testing asphalt pavements • Must have a proven history of working well with contractors and owners to accomplish construction tasks • Proficient in providing work zone traffic control and ensuring a safe work zone • Experience providing contract administration and field reporting • Proficient communication with PM, staff, contractor and other stakeholders • Must have good driving record and a valid driver's license
Technical Requirements: • Proficient at using Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets and knowledge of PDF software such as Bluebeam or Adobe. • Must have Level1B Certification
Other Miscellaneous Qualities: • Must be willing to work either day or night shifts • Must be willing to work weekends • Must be willing to transition from field testing and inspection duties to laboratory testing responsibilities as needed • Must be willing to work "off hours" when needed and up to 60 hours per week as needed • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time • Abide by Atlas health and safety policies and procedures
