Position Overview:

As the Engineering Director - Automation (Chemical Manufacturing), you will be responsible for leading the engineering efforts, leveraging your expertise in automation technologies within the chemical space. Your strategic guidance will be critical in ensuring the success of projects, optimizing manufacturing processes, and maintaining fiscal responsibility. Additionally, you will play a key role in building and mentoring automation teams, fostering leadership development within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and execute the engineering strategy, aligning with the company's global objectives and fostering innovation.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the engineering team, driving advancements in automation technologies specific to the chemical manufacturing sector.

Team Management and Leadership Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a dynamic team of engineers, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Build and develop automation teams, identifying talent, and nurturing leaders within the organization.
  • Proven record of mentoring leaders into effective managers within the automation domain.

Automation Expertise:
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation systems within the chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge to optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency and reliability.

Financial Management:
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in managing budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility in engineering projects.
  • Manage P&Ls, collaborating with finance teams to optimize spending while maintaining high-quality standards.

Project Management:
  • Manage and execute complex engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful automation solutions aligned with business objectives.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a management role within the chemical manufacturing industry, specializing in Process Control/Automation.
  • Proven track record in managing budgets and P&Ls for engineering projects within the chemical space.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and mentoring automation teams, fostering leadership development.
