Cellino is building a precision platform that personalizes human cells for all. Stem cell-derived regenerative medicines are poised to cure some of the toughest diseases within this decade, including Parkinson's, diabetes, and heart disease. Patient-specific cells provide the safest, most effective cures for these indications. Currently, large scale production of stem cell therapies is challenging due to extensive manual handling, high variability, and expensive manufacturing costs. The Role
We are seeking a research and development technician to help support the development of advanced surfaces for supporting cell growth. Working closely with our R&D engineers and scientists, you will play a key role in ensuring experiments are executed successfully. This would include supporting the execution of tests, as well as improving test methods. You will be a trusted partner in the data that is created while developing products used in the improvement of patients' lives.
Candidates should be prepared to show examples of the work they have done in the past, highlighting their engagement with Engineering or subject matter experts.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality results by performing various standardized chemical, mechanical, and optical tests to help support the building and development of Cellino's cell production system
Use of testing software, data collection, and data report generation
Test Article Fabrication
Characterization of materials through sample preparation and executing testing procedures using equipment such as microscopes, liquid handlers, ovens, incubators, and custom optical and mechanical test systems
Ensure all test equipment/measurement tool calibration is scheduled and performed
Analysis of data and reporting results to engineering teams
Maintain a clean and organized workstation
Manage the inventory of test articles and ordering of supplies
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a science or engineering field or relevant work experience
Comfortable using laboratory equipment and troubleshooting issues
Experience in data collection
Meticulous attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Skilled in standard office software, including spreadsheet
Comfortable with command-line software utilities, including Python scripts
Nice-to-Have Skills and Background
Knowledge of advanced laboratory equipment such as mass spectrometry, surface analysis, SEM/EDS FTIR, or IR imaging equipment
Experience working in an academic or commercial research laboratory
Proven ability to develop fixtures for testing
Enthusiasm for science, engineering or medicine
