Automotive Fabrication Technician
Job Summary:
Our client in Raymond, OH is looking for a Fabrication Technician. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
Welder/Metal Fabricator.
Responsibilities:
Fabricate and/or modify metal parts and components from blueprints or 3D data.
Use saw, shear, metal brake, oxygen/acetylene torch, grinder, and other fabrication equipment.
Read and understand blueprints and schematics.
Select proper equipment and set voltage and wire feed settings.
Weld from a variety of positions to obtain proper strength and appearance.
Participate in meetings, projects, and activities in support of company and team goals.
Maintain proficiency in relevant knowledge skills and in the use of equipment applicable to the position.
Communicate (verbal and written) with customers, engineers, management, and technicians.
Understand and apply appropriate policies and procedures relevant to the position.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Other tasks within the scope of this position.
Basics:
Experience welding using Tig & Mig equipment.
Experience utilizing basic hand tools.
Follow blueprints & layout specs.
Experience welding steel, stainless, aluminum, and their alloys.
Must pass a welding test.
Familiar with calipers, tape measures, and other standard measuring equipment.
Experience using forklifts, cranes, and the physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
CAD/CATIA experience.
Basic computer skills.
Basic math skills, ability to interpret the metric system.
Maintain welding & related equipment.
Monitor fitting, burning & welding processes.
Examine completed workpieces for defects.
Setup & operate fabricating machines.
Locate & mark work-piece bending & cutting lines.
Positive manner of performance, team player, good written and verbal communication skills.
