Basic Job Functions:



Nucor Steel Lexington has an opening for an Inside Sales Representative. This is an entry level position with the potential to advance to Outside Sales. We take care of our customers by focusing on safety, quality, cost, service and productivity. We believe that teamwork and safety are critical to our work environment.Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:

• Replying to customer inquiries regarding availability of inventory, rolling schedule, open order status, and pricing on both standard and special products, resolving customer service issues, taking customer orders, and load building for shipments.


• Effectively solicit opportunities with new and grow existing customer base.


• Working in concert with outside sales force, production, shipping, mill management and metallurgist to sell product and service customers.


• Territory planning and customer development with outside sales force.


• Reporting/data manipulation (word documents, spreadsheets, power point presentations).

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  Two years' sales related work experience in a manufacturing environment
  


• 
  Desires to develop skills needed for Outside Sales or Supervisory positions
  


• 
  Willing to travel
  


• 
  Willing to relocate
