Job Description:

Trademasters is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our team. This position involves accurately estimating project costs, preparing mechanical proposals/estimates, or government projects, handing off awarded projects to the project management team, and providing necessary support to the production and administrative team until completion. We work in occupied and existing spaces, and projects include repurposed spaces, upgrades, energy projects, repairs, and other work, both competitive and non-competitive bids.

Project Estimator Qualifications to be successful;

• Requires an expert level of skill; at least seven years’ experience as a project superintendent, project lead, project manager, or estimator in commercial mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and/or construction industry.
• Related formal education (i.e., engineering, PMI, OSHA, etc.) a plus.
• Experience on government projects is a plus.
• Must be able to pass background check needed to work at federal government facilities.
• Must comply with drug-free workplace policies, initial, accident/incident, and random drug tests.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building systems, codes, and standards.
• Experience as a skilled tradesperson a plus.
• Proficient in estimating unique projects in occupied spaces.
• Strong organization and communications skills.
• Ability to complete reports, written and verbal correspondence with clients, attend construction meetings, and organize project files.
• Ability to work with deadlines.
• Ability to read plans and specs, understanding of national codes,
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Requires a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Will be required to attain OSHA-30.

Project Estimator Responsibilities Include;

• Review project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work, or determine best solution to meet the clients’ priorities (budget, efficiency, performance, etc.)
• Visit worksites to survey for estimates and document onsite conditions related to project.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for primarily mechanical projects, which may include ancillary services HVAC, controls, piping, plumbing, electrical, structural, finishes, utilities, exterior restoration. Proposals include labor, subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
• Coordinate and communicate with clients and vendors to meet proposal deadlines.
• Submit RFIs to ensure scope of work is understood.
• Organize proposal documentation, provide requirements to vendors, review vendor proposals, ensure proposal and pricing covers all the requirements.
