Role Overview: The Preconstruction Manager will lead the initial planning phases of our construction projects, overseeing feasibility, budgeting, risk management, and compliance to lay a strong foundation for success.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough feasibility studies to assess the practicality of potential projects, considering environmental impacts, resource availability, and regulatory constraints
Develop accurate budget forecasts for all construction aspects, ensuring financial discipline and project viability
Identify potential risks early in the planning process and devise strategies to mitigate these to prevent delays and cost overruns
Work closely with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure that project plans are optimized for functionality and budget adherence while maintaining structural integrity
Manage the selection and negotiation processes with subcontractors and vendors to ensure partnerships align with our high standards of quality and reliability
Create detailed project timelines that coordinate all preconstruction activities, ensuring all milestones are clearly defined and communicated
Ensure all project plans comply with local, state, and federal regulations, managing permit acquisitions and documentation
Implement sustainable construction practices, aligning with environmental standards and industry trends
Maintain continuous communication with clients, providing updates and addressing concerns to ensure alignment and satisfaction
Use advanced construction technologies to improve planning accuracy and efficiency, ensuring optimal project execution
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
At least 12 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial concrete projects
Minimum of 5 years in a preconstruction management role, demonstrating successful project leadership
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, On-Screen Takeoff, and Bluebeam. Familiarity with Revit is beneficial
Exceptional organizational, negotiation, and critical thinking skills
Strong communication skills, capable of building effective relationships and leading teams
