Jewish News Syndicate (JNS), the fastest-growing news agency covering Israel and the Jewish world, is seeking a full-time VP Development JNS-USA as a key member of our Development Team. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the VP Development JNS-USA will be the primary US-based senior fundraiser for Jewish News Syndicate, leading all regional and community fundraising activities in the US and Canada. This role involves cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors, sponsors, partners, and other stakeholders, ensuring they are recognized and appreciated.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, a proven fundraising track record (minimum $10M), and a passion for JNS' mission. They should be a self-starter capable of managing projects and working with a remote team.
What You'll be Doing:
Develop and cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors, including individuals, foundations, and other entities across North America.
Oversee and execute fundraising campaigns, events, grants, appeals, and other initiatives, monitoring and reporting on outcomes and impact.
Research and identify prospective funding opportunities aligned with JNS's mission.
Assist in planning and executing fundraising events and meetings.
Arrange meetings for prospects and donors with JNS CEO and key staff members.
Represent JNS at US conferences to find new donor prospects and expand JNS's presence.
Create brand awareness and partnership opportunities for JNS, engaging with diverse communities and markets (e.g., college campuses, young entrepreneurs, Evangelical Christians, community leaders, synagogues).
Build and manage a team, as time goes by and funds start coming in
What You Bring:
8+ years as a professional fundraiser with a proven track record in $10M annual campaigns
Management experience and able to lead a team
Strong leadership and project management skills, capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
Demonstrable skills in crafting a pitch, prospect research, stewarding donor relations, solicitation of major gifts, and delivering compelling presentations
Skilled in building and managing relationships with individual and corporate supporters
Effective at organizing work, managing conflicting demands, and setting clear priorities
Administratively self-sufficient and proficient in fundraising software and CRM systems
Solid understanding of budgeting techniques
Entrepreneurial spirit, and a creative, proactive self-starter who can work with a remote team
*** Travel will be required in the US and Canada.
