Brigham and Women's Harbor Medical Associates in South Weymouth is located at 541 Main Street, South Weymouth, 02190. This location has multiple specialties including Cardiology, Diagnostic Radiology, Endocrinology, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Pathology, Pulmonology, Sleep Medicine and Vascular Surgery. This location also provides services such as Blood Draw Lab, Imaging, Primary Care and Urgent Care/Fast Care.

The Opportunity



We are seeking a Full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support the Sleep Medicine & Pulmonary suite onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00am- 5:00pm (shifts are staggered accordingly). Our Medical Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Dedicated to clinical support, the Medical Assistant ensures a smooth patient flow within the practice and assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of physician or advanced practitioner. We ideally aim to have our clinical support staff members working 1:1 or 1:2 with assigned providers, but they do cross-cover, rotate, and collaborate with other providers as needed. We are a collaborative smaller team!


This opportunity is a mix of both clinical and administrative functions at the front desk!


Responsibilities include:


  • Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office

  • Assisting during office visits (rooming/vitals, EKGs, examinations, immunizations, and treatments as directed)

  • Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient care management (administrative support, phone calls, test results, prior authorizations, coordination of care, etc.)

  • Maintaining neat, clean, stocked, and safe exam rooms and patient care areas

  • Interacting with patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner consistent with their needs.

  • • Responsible for preparing and maintaining home sleep monitors and preparing patients for their home sleep studies.

  • • Responsible for reviewing home sleep study schedule and confirming Prior authorizations are obtained.

  • • Collecting home sleep monitors following use and preparing machines for next patient to use.






Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Completion of a formal medical assistant training program required

  • CPR certification from a program approved by the American Heart Association required

  • National Medical Assistant certification preferred

  • Clinical support experience, specifically in primary care and/or specialty care setting, preferred
