Job Description Summary:
The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine is currently looking for part-time, temporary servers to assist in the WVSOM Student Center and O'Cafe for small to large events as needed. This position is a temporary position with a pay of $25 per hour, up to 37.5 hours per week as needed or requested; no benefits.
Review of applications will begin immediately upon receipt. Candidates are subject to employment and credential verification, reference and background checks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Position would deliver, set up, serve, and cleanup catered events.
- Maintain "on time" delivery schedule for catered events.
- Prepare and mix ingredients as requested.
- Maintain food service area and assist the Director and Assistant Director as needed.
- Ensure proper storage of leftover food items.
- Maintain a clean sanitary workplace in accordance with county, state, and federal regulations.
- Performs related duties as assigned or as directed.

Minimum Education:
High School or GED
Required Licenses/Certification:
This position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus at least one year of recent and related experience, though a combination of education and experience may be considered. Position also requires the obtainment of a WV food handler's permit.
Skills Required:
- Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of individuals;
- Ability to use and operate commercial kitchen equipment;
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations;
- Excellent oral and written communications skills to communicate clearly and concisely with a broad and diverse group of individuals;
- Ability to learn and/or operate a cash register;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise judgment;
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Job duties are performed in a standard work environment and require bending, stooping, standing, and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
