Summary:
Must have at least one (1) year of hospital ministry experience.
Provides direct spiritual care, counsel and support for patients, families and employees of the Memorial Healthcare System.
Required Work Experience: Must have at least one (1) year of hospital ministry experience.
Onsite - Full Time
Location: Travel between three (3) locations:
Memorial Cancer Institute- Memorial Hospital West
Memorial Cancer Institute - Memorial Hospital Regional
Memorial Cancer Institute - Hallandale Beach
Responsibilities:
Provides on-call chaplain coverage (nights/weekends) according to need or established schedule.
Leads public services as well as spiritual support groups as needed or requested.
Assists with various administrative tasks supporting the spiritual care program of a given hospital campus.
Provides spiritual services to patients and families across multiple hospital departments (Adult & Pediatric) using a Patient and Family Centered approach.
Assesses and attends to spiritual needs of patients, family and staff, accommodating varied faith traditions and customs.
Attends emergency codes and critical events as needed or requested.
Maintains day-to-day schedule of pastoral care rounding on patients according to need and house census.
Performs rituals and sacramental rites according to patient/family need or request.
Attends clinical and interdisciplinary team meetings, working alongside medical and support staff as a direct care provider.

Education and Certification Requirements:
Bachelors: Theology (Required)

Works effectively in stressful and crisis situations, giving particular attention to the support of and communication with clinical staff. Required Work Experience: Must have at least one (1) year of hospital ministry experience. Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
