This HR Director will partner with our parent company and the Defense Segment leaders to strategically provide thought leadership and deliver objectives on talent management, organizational effectiveness, employee experience, change management, and employee relations. Success in this role will require influential partnership with leaders across the enterprise to execute the HR strategies that drive business results and organizational effectiveness. The individual in this role must understand business priorities and translate them into an HR agenda that can scale with business growth.


Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention. This position will oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; flow down training and development requirements.

* Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
* Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
* Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
* Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
* Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
* Develops and maintains paperwork for new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
* Provides guidance and input on restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.


Requirements:
Minimum of 7 - 10 years of HR experience preferably within aerospace and/or government & defense
Experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time.
