Amsted Rail has an immediate opening for a Transit Casting Process Engineer Co-Op / Intern Spring 2025 - Summer 2025 at its operation in Granite City, Illinois.

This unique opportunity requires an innovative, self-starting individual to apply their creativity and vision to our green sand foundry process. Applicants need to be able to think creatively, manage projects and communicate effectively.

The Co-Op student will tackle one ongoing major project, to launch an application that bridges the gap between operations, IT and engineering. The goal is for a student to work part time while in school.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Engineering Management w/ Industrial Engineering focus - 3.0 GPA minimum.

• Strong interpersonal skills


• Excellent communication skills


• Ability to work from written or verbal instructions


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
