Overview: The Purchasing Clerk plays a vital role in the procurement process, ensuring that all purchasing activities are conducted efficiently and effectively. This position involves managing inventory levels, processing purchase orders, and coordinating with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain management and inventory control systems, as well as experience with various purchasing software.
Responsibilities:
Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or excess.
Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
Utilize systems such as Oracle EBS and AS400 for inventory management and order processing.
Assist in production planning by forecasting material needs based on sales trends and production schedules.
Support e-commerce initiatives by managing online inventory and coordinating with sales teams.
Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Generate reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and inventory status.
Skills:
Proficiency in inventory management systems, including Oracle EBS and AS400.
Strong understanding of supply chain processes and production planning methodologies.
Experience with e-commerce platforms and their integration into purchasing operations.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to analyze data effectively to make informed purchasing decisions.
Strong communication skills for collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.
Knowledge of industry best practices in purchasing and inventory control is a plus.
