Job Description:

Purpose of Role


The Senior Program Manager is responsible to drive the effective planning, execution, and completion of Information Technology (IT) projects. This role will provide oversite to the IT project portfolio and work with the Vice President of IT to drive the improvement of its overall health and work under the direction of the PMO to develop and improve project, program, and portfolio management methodologies, processes, and tools.



Areas of Accountabilities


The Senior Program Manager role is a hands-on delivery role with people management responsibilities for other program managers supporting the digital transformation portfolio. In this role, you•ll be the bridge between the PMO, Enterprise Architecture, Applications Engineering, Solutions Development, IT Operations, and key business stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is aligned and projects stay on track.



Project/Program Delivery

  • Drives the execution of end-to-end products including project scope, benefits, schedules, and cost plans from concept to successful launch.
  • Holds cross-functional teams accountable for the successful and timely execution of the technology roadmap.
  • Leads cross-functional teams by influence.
  • Manages project and program managers through the delivery of technology and digital transformation using both Agile and hybrid program management methodologies.

Governance/Performance Management
  • Ensures risks are understood and controlled and issues are appropriately escalated and resolved.
  • Coordinates and maintains portfolio communications that support prioritization and resource allocation to align to strategic digital transformation roadmap.
  • Establishes trusting relationships with project teams at a peer and subordinate level, VP of IT, VP of PMO, and other business leaders.

Organizational Change Management

  • Integrates change management into program delivery to ensure technology adoption is optimized.
  • Identifies and engages the right level of accountability for internal stakeholders to drive success.
  • Develops communication plans to guide users through system transitions.
  • Collaborates within IT to streamline and improve our IT processes, engagement and governance models.



Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in technology or relevant business. PMP certification preferred.
  • Seven + years of relevant experience in program or IT management.
  • Experience with PPM software and project management tools. (Jira & Smartsheet preferred)
  • Fluent understanding and demonstrated knowledge of both traditional and Agile methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to influence, coach, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proven capability to work collaboratively with peers, subordinates, and senior leaders.
  • Approximately 10% travel.
