Sign-On Agreement Terms
12-month work commitment
Half payment distribution after 90 days of hire and remaining 50% at one year of hire.

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT
Working in concert with the pharmacy team, under the general direction of the Manager and Assistant Director, the CTP Technician follows established policies and procedures to perform activities integral to the operation of the pharmacy department at Mass General Hospital. Activities include and are not restricted to handling of investigational medications, entering orders for drug dispense, answering phones, attending staff meetings, providing support to the pharmacists, checking expiration dates on medications, non-sterile compounding, sterile compounding, temperature monitoring, training, inventory management and assisting in other areas as needed. Technicians must be able to pass both licensure and area specific competences. The Pharmacy Technician may rotate throughout the various assigned areas.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Trials Pharmacist, the Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician:
Processes outpatient and inpatient investigational prescriptions utilizing the CTP computerized drug management system.
Receives investigational drug supplies, handles patient and sponsor returns.
Performs inventory management including drug ordering, receipt, expiration date checks, accountability, drug returns, destruction etc.
Meets with the destruction company representative for controlled substance return and destruction.
Prepares sterile and non-sterile products in adherence to USP and hospital policies and procedures.
Assists in training of pharmacy staff, in conjunction with the area supervisor or designee.
Maintains all required training competencies.
Corresponds with study team members and sponsors as needed.
Aids the Pharmacist in monitor visit scheduling, set-up, triage and resolution of findings.
Performs daily monitoring of CTP fridge, freezer and room temperatures.
Participates in study closure and document archival.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
• Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician license
National Certification
• High School diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED:
Research pharmacy experience
