Distribution and Logistical Services encompasses Document Services, Campus Mail, Warehouse and Surplus Stores.



Job Summary



The Printing Services Manager provides operational management and oversight to team of publications and print productions staff. Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency. Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.


Department Specific Responsibilities


  • Manages Print Production Staff to ensure jobs are produced accurately and delivered on time.

  • Coordinates with campus stakeholders on special projects. Coordinates quoting, production and delivery.

  • Works with outside vendors for recommendations and purchasing equipment.

  • Works with outside vendors to purchase material/supplies and outside buys.

  • Supervises Online Ordering System Administration and order Issues.

  • Works directly with customers to resolve issues.

  • Manages Inventory.

  • Identifies Opportunities to implement operational efficiencies

  • Responsible for coaching and career development and growth of employees.

General Responsibilities


  • Provides day-to-day operational management of publications and print production staff.

  • Establishes short-term operational objectives.

  • Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency.

  • Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.

  • Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff.

  • Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for, the performance of team and/or assigned staff.

  • Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve publications and print production operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff.

  • Researches and stays up-to-date on new industry publications and print production standards, best practices, and emerging technology; keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as significant problems.

EDUCATION



Required



  • Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, or related field

WORK EXPERIENCE



Required



  • 2 years in relevant field


Preferred



  • 5 years in relevant field

  • Printing management experience

Working Conditions / Demands



This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. This role requires lifting up to 25 pounds. May be required to operate other printing manufacturing and warehouse equipment. This position involved sedentary work as well as frequent periods of moving around an office and manufacturing facility. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodations.

Advertised Salary



$60,000-$70,000 based on experience
