Join a team dedicated to advancing spacecraft technology as a Loads and Dynamics Engineer, where you will perform critical modeling, simulation, and validation to support spacecraft and ground system development.
Responsibilities:
Develop, refine, and validate Finite Element Models (FEM) and correlate results to test data.
Perform rigid and flexible body dynamics analysis for spacecraft systems.
Model, simulate, and verify spacecraft launch, docking, and landing events.
Measure, interpret, and analyze acceleration, shock, and vibration data from ground and flight tests.
Contribute to general loads development for spacecraft and related ground systems.
Support configuration development and perform trade studies to evaluate design options.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
8+ years of experience in predicting and validating structural dynamics and loads, with expertise in finite element modeling.
Strong foundation in structural static and dynamic analysis fundamentals.
Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based methods, including hand calculations, in-house tools, and commercial analytical software.
U.S. Citizenship or national status, U.S. permanent residency (Green Card), or lawful admission as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in spacecraft and launch vehicle loads development and validation.
Proficiency with Hyperworks, NASTRAN, Matlab, and other analysis tools such as LS-Dyna, Adams, Wave6, and Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA).
High-frequency environment prediction skills for spacecraft and launch vehicles.
