The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", Department of Pediatrics has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Research Assistant to work in Miami.
The Research Assistant contributes with research investigators by providing research and experimentation support while following established protocols. Further, the Research Assistant performs a clerical role to ensure the smooth operations of office facilities.
The Research Assistant will be providing support on an on-need basis based of program needs and demands at the moment. Schedule is flexible and based on daily tasks; and work, training and support takes place during regular business hours 9 to 5PM.
Sets up and operates various scientific apparatus and makes minor repairs.
Prepares correspondence and answers phones.
Formulates and maintains bibliographies and completes applications and forms.
Orders laboratory supplies and maintains culture media reagents.
Reviews and edits various materials for publication and prepares publication schedules.
Maintains appropriate logs, records, and study notebooks.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions:
Provide program support in the form of classroom observations, data collection and entry, and any additional office support.
Support data collection in the field as needed from program participants.
Support all data management efforts (e.g., implementation of data protocol including data checking, entering, filing, and cleaning).
Provide additional program support as needed (e.g., organize and distribute toolkit materials).
Attend all program meetings and trainings as requested.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
