About the Position:

Allied Resources is looking for a Superintendent for an exciting Full-time opportunity with a forward-thinking and innovative company in Newark, New Jersey. Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead regular safety briefings, meetings, and work-site inspections. Oversee the implementation of the Roadway Worker Protection program.
  • Schedule and manage all general maintenance, including preventive maintenance for NLR systems such as Traction Power Infrastructure, Train Control, SCADA, Track, Ventilation, and Auxiliary Electrical/lighting, as well as the Vehicle Base Facility and NLR Penn Station infrastructure.
  • Coordinate capital and maintenance improvement projects, including track outages and third-party work activities, with Capital Planning & Programs.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, contract documents, testing methodologies, proposals, and cost estimates for all NLR improvement projects.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for LRT management to analyze system and component failures. Develop maintenance and repair products and methods.
  • Participate in post-incident investigations as part of the NLR Tiger Team to identify root causes and reinforce safety standards.
  • Submit incident, investigation, and status reports as directed by the Assistant General Manager.
  • Manage equitable labor relations within the department, officiating or delegating MOW 1st Step Labor Hearings as needed.
  • Oversee the maintenance and construction process, including installation, testing, start-up, and activation.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required; relevant experience is highly valued.
  • 8+ years of experience in maintenance, design, construction, and operation of electrified railways, including track, signals, traction power, and auxiliary systems.
  • Proven experience in managing railway MOW programs and supervising agreement and non-agreement personnel.
  • In-depth understanding of railway safety issues and their impact on service, staff, and customers.
  • Strong negotiation, customer service, time management, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
