Job Description:

An established professional services organization in Alpharetta is looking to hire a Senior System Administrator with skills across Windows Server, VMWare, Microsoft 365, and ideally cloud experience (AWS or Azure).

They are seeking an individual to fill the role of Senior System Administrator, responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of both on-site and remote technology staff engaged in computer operations, desktop support, system administration, and general enterprise support. This role involves providing comprehensive support for system-wide servers, computers, software, and hardware whilst having technical leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address and resolve escalated Help Desk tickets with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring proper prioritization and resolution while maintaining a commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Mentor and lead a team of IT support and system administration staff.
  • Collaborate on the support of fundamental Microsoft, Cisco, and VMware technologies.
  • Execute and document technology installations or upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate documentation with a strong emphasis on confidentiality regarding sensitive information and data related to system security.
  • Uphold a high level of customer service, cultivating strong customer relationships.
  • Assist in developing and implementing solutions to address system-wide operational challenges.
  • Continuously pursue knowledge enhancement through formal training, self-directed research on industry trends, and staying informed about breaking news.
  • Work with vendors and 3rd parties, optimizing performance and services.
  • Promote a positive image and reputation for the System by demonstrating servant leadership and facilitating transparent communication.
  • Contribute to the collaborative efforts of committees, workgroups, project management, and other initiatives within the System.
  • Perform additional duties as required to ensure the success of the System.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Consideration given to those with relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows desktop operating systems across various computing platforms (e.g., laptops, tablets, and desktop computers).
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot incoming customer requests via phone and email.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple requests with frequently conflicting priorities.
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences through phone, email, and an internal ticketing system.
  • Cloud experience - Azure/AWS
  • Team leadership / mentoring and training experience.
