About the Job

Title: Senior Manager or Director (depending on experience)

Reports To: Chief Investment Officer

Location: Flexible (preference for Denver/Boulder, New York City, or Boston)

Description: This is a critical role within the Capital Markets organization that leads capital formation activities for the company's projects, portfolios, or corporate capital needs. Well-suited candidates will be eager to work on complex problems to enable the company's projects to be successfully deployed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or support structured transactions across the capital structure at the project and corporate level, acting as the face of the company to the capital markets.
  • Creating and managing accurate, well-structured financial models (both levered and unlevered) for various projects in development
  • Work closely with CIO and leadership team to prepare and deliver complex analyses and conclusions on financial impact of various development strategies and financial structuring
  • Lead outreach and analysis on evolving issues in the market that have significant financial implications on projects and the company
  • Optimizing capital stack and commercial offtake structures for both merchant and contracted energy storage projects
  • Support execution of project acquisitions, including valuation, diligence, and documentation.
  • Support development and commercial strategy, with involvement in key strategic decisions
  • Work cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, commercial, development, and other members of finance to enable project success and to establish sustainable best practices.
  • Support CIO in capital planning, forecasting, and scenario planning as needed

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, structured finance, or project finance,
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to self-direct, flexibility, creativity, desire to grow into additional responsibilities as the company expands
  • Preference for direct, relevant experience in renewable or energy storage industry, and understanding of utility scale project development
  • Network of relevant market participants across debt, tax equity, equity, and consultants.
  • Successful track record of leading capital formation activities, including debt, tax equity, and/or equity.
  • Some experience with structured energy products or wholesale power markets is preferred
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail
  • Expert with Excel and PowerPoint

Compensation and Benefits

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time. Ability to work in the United States is a requirement.

Salary: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
