Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Plant Manager with a minimum of 20 years of experience in the food industry, with a proven track record of success in managing all aspects of food plant operations, not just production. This role will oversee the entire plant operation, ensuring efficient and safe production, adherence to all regulatory standards, and a positive work environment. Need to hit the ground running to start building out the entire plant personnel.

Responsibilities:
  • Hire & develop an entire team for plant production.
  • Assist engineering and contractors to build a frozen meal production facility.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of plant operations, including production, sanitation, maintenance, quality control, warehousing, and safety.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize production efficiency, minimize waste, and maximize profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, etc.) and company quality standards.
  • Manage and develop a team of plant personnel, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
  • Oversee all plant maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance programs and equipment repairs.
  • Manage and develop the plant budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.
  • Implement and maintain effective quality control procedures throughout the production process.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address potential safety or quality issues.
  • Manage risk mitigation strategies and implement corrective actions for identified problems.
  • Foster positive relationships with regulatory agencies, suppliers, and customers.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in food manufacturing.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in food plant operations, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of plant operations, including production, sanitation, maintenance, quality control, warehousing, and safety.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices (HACCP, GMPs).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop a team environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong budgeting and financial acumen.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and plant management software (preferred).
  • Lean 6-sigma black belt certified (preferred)
  • Building out a full production team (preferred)
