Overview: Miami Technical Services (MTS) is seeking an experienced Project Control Specialist to manage and oversee the financial aspects of multiple federal government contracts. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in financial management, reporting, and analysis, ensuring that all project deliverables are met on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, budget forecasts, and variance analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal requirements.
  • Budget Tracking: Monitor and track project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and identifying any variances or potential issues. Provide detailed budget status reports to senior management and federal clients.
  • Deliverable Management: Ensure that all project financial deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards. Track the progress of deliverables and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Cost Control: Implement and maintain effective cost control measures to manage project expenditures. Review and approve project expenses, ensuring they align with the budget and contractual obligations.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal regulations and contract requirements related to financial management and reporting.
  • Coordination: Work closely with project managers, accountants, and other stakeholders to ensure financial data is accurate and up to date. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate financial management processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the financial health of the projects.

Qualifications:

Experience: 5+ years of experience in project control, financial management, or a related role, preferably within the federal government contracting sector.

Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

Skills:
  • Highly proficient in financial management and reporting, with a strong understanding of P&L, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Understanding of AP/Billing/Procurement/Time & Expense processes and requirements.
  • The ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • The ability to work independently to complete tasks on time and within budget.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail capability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Deltek Costpoint, MS Excel, and other financial management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Must possess a high level of professionalism and a positive attitude when interacting with colleagues, clients, guests, and other employees in the office.

Clearance Required: Must be able to pass a background check and hold or obtain a security clearance.
