DSW Homes is seeking an experienced, reliable and results-oriented Deputy Construction Program Manager responsible for overseeing a disaster recovery program in Sarasota County. The Deputy Construction Program Manager reports to the Construction Program Manager. Candidate will manage business operations and exercise independent judgement and discretion about matters of significance, be self-motivated, detail oriented, able to multi-task with advanced problem-solving techniques, proficient in communication skills with timely follow up, uphold high value for customer service relationships and exemplify our core values. This is an in-office position and successful candidate will be required to report to an office in Sarasota County. Site visits will be required and successful candidate will need to be able to drive and perform quality control inspections.
Essential process driven functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Daily reviews with Program Construction Manager, aid in resolving issues when necessary
Collaborate with Grant administrator to verify scope and budget
Work with project team members to establish, promote and ensure quality on all projects and work performance
Perform quality control inspections prior to key milestones during the project.
Exercise initiative and independent judgment in managing daily program activities, projects, and exercises discretion in the dissemination of information to field staff, senior managers, and various program entities
Be present at site meetings
Review change orders for accuracy and cost reasonableness
Review schedules and progress reports with contractors
Work with homeowners with concerns
Provide training to contractors through weekly bulletins
Review HOA requirements and be sure contractors are compliant
All other duties as assigned
Education and Skill Requirements:
College education in Construction Management strongly preferred
Minimum 3 years experience in residential construction (required)
Candidate should be familiar with Florida building code and green building practices
Experience in scattered lot preferred
