The Connecticut General Assembly Senate Republican Office seeks full-time temporary attorneys for a unique and exciting opportunity in a dynamic environment. Successful candidates will be assigned to cover one or more legislative committees throughout the 2025 legislative session and will be primarily responsible for working with legislators in drafting, reviewing, analyzing, tracking, and amending legislation, in addition to helping legislators understand the legal implication of legislation and the implication of case law and Federal law on proposed legislation.
Successful candidates may also maintain a degree of private practice provided such outside practice does not conflict with their duties to the office and employment with the State of Connecticut. For full-time temporary attorneys, the position term is approximately January 8, 2025 to June 4, 2025, at per diem salary of $314 per day. Paid holidays and some paid time off is also afforded.

Required Skills and Ability:
Requires superior writing and analytical skills, thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail, strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, and initiative. Must perform excellent work under tight deadlines and be willing and able to work very long hours during the legislative session. Excellent academic record, law degree, and admission to Connecticut bar at time of hiring are required.
