Job Description:

Position Summary:

Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner. Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers. Creates and maintains bills of material and commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprise-wide systems. Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities (e.g., materials, components, equipment and services). Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor purchase orders and communicates regularly with suppliers to maintain delivery schedules, and proactively communicate to internal customers when critical issues arise
  • Supports communication with suppliers and Accounts Payable to resolve invoices, purchase orders and other discrepancies
  • Work with Accounts Payable and suppliers to reconcile invoice and purchase order discrepancies
  • Reviews and manages inventory levels to achieve target levels in conjunction with product development and quality teams
  • Maintains strong supplier relationships in order to drive cost reductions and support capacity planning while maintaining high-quality product
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Comfortable working in multi-tasking, high volume environments, with a high aptitude for customer service
  • Possesses strong aptitude for customer service
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel, with strong analytical capabilities
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
  • Project management experience preferred
