Job Description:

A&A Industrial Piping, Inc. is a full-service mechanical contractor primarily serving northern New Jersey. We've been in business for 35 years and are involved in unique projects with Fortune 500 clientele. We are looking for an experienced Controller with union construction industry experience to join our growth-oriented company. In this position you will be responsible for overseeing the company's financials and collaborating closely with the owners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures for all construction projects
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for each project, including budget vs actual analysis and cash flow projections
• Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost reports, payroll, 941s, 1099s, W2s, yearly WIP schedules for insurance estimates
• Creates quarterly P&L statements
• Prepares annual budgets and year end tax data for accounting partners
• Ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP
• Coordinate with project managers to review project budgets and ensure cost control measures are in place
• Monitor project expenses and report any variances to senior management
• Work closely with the project team to identify and manage project risks
• Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including banks and other financial institutions
• Delegates and supervises accounting team overseeing subsidiary accounts, credit card statements, timecard review & entry, petty cash & POs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in construction accounting and fiscal management
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting standards
• Experience with project management and cost control
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Proficient in Trimble Spectrum
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
