SUMMARY:

This evolving position is located in the Operations Division with the Oklahoma City-County Health Department (OCCHD). This is a professional position that serves as the content expert in teen pregnancy prevention (TPP) and reproductive health; coordinates all training and technical assistance (TA) for project partners, including Getting to Outcomes (GTO) Evidence Based Practice (EBP) curricula, adolescent reproductive health, working with vulnerable youth populations, best practice strategies for ensuring quality and fidelity, asset-building/youth development and related topics; assists program provider partners in selecting and piloting EBPs in targeted settings, works with the TPP Supervisor, project staff team and evaluator in aligning data collection and evaluation activities with the GTO process and program implementation plans; and serves as the point of contact for all education, training and TA-related activities. This position will be a part of the Wellness Now Adolescent Health Workgroup Oklahoma County Teen Pregnancy Prevention Collaboration's Education Committee.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible to stay updated on current data, research, resources, best practice program strategies, regional/national EBP training opportunities and opportunities for collaboration with other organizations in the state.
  • Ensure fidelity and quality of EB program delivery including on-site observations, fidelity monitoring and recommendations for continuous quality improvement to build capacity and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Participates in the TPP Collaboration's health educator network meetings and activities and provides on-going TA for the individual health educators and other program providers including Oklahoma City Public School nurses.
  • Works with TPP Supervisor, the project staff team and organizational partners to build support for EBP and the capacity to replicate them effectively.
  • Developing and maintaining contacts between OCCHD and other agencies.
  • Analyzing policy and research.
  • Using various audio/visual equipment; designing, coordinating and assisting in the production of professional materials (e.g., posters, exhibits, leaflets, brochures and multimedia presentations).
  • Generating documents and reports.
  • Driving to off-site locations to perform job duties as needed.
  • Completes required training in support of duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • At the direction of OCCHD Chief Executive Officer and Chief Health Officer or designee, the incumbent will be assigned a variety of specific job duties and responsibilities as a member of the OCCHD Emergency Preparedness and Response Team. Also, as a member of OCCHD Emergency Preparedness and Response Team, the incumbent is required to complete all necessary responder training and may be designated as a member of the first-responder team.
  • In accordance with our designation of a PHAB Accredited health department and explicit commitment to a culture of continuous quality improvement, employees will receive Quality Improvement (QI) training deemed necessary by their supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

-Teen pregnancy prevention education and training experience preferred

-Valid Oklahoma driver license required

LEVEL 1 - Master's degree in Public Health, Education, or related field or Bachelor's degree plus one year of health education related experience, pay grade 12, $2,095 semi-monthly

LEVEL 2 - Master's degree in Public Health, Education, or related field plus one year of experience or Bachelor's degree plus two years of health education related experience, pay grade 13, $2,259 semi-monthly

LEVEL 3 - Master's degree in Public Health, Education, or related field plus two years of experience or Bachelor's degree plus three years of health education related experience, pay grade 14, $2,442 semi-monthly

LEVEL 4 - Master's degree in Public Health, Education, or related field plus three years of experience or Bachelor's degree plus four years of health education related experience, pay grade 15, $2,636 semi-monthly
