Talimer client, an organization that created a community-driven platform to connect people with unique, local experiences while helping small businesses thrive, is seeking a talented Full Stack Developer to add support on a part-time, ongoing basis. Initially, the upfront work will take more significant hours as the selected developer familiarize themselves with the project, transitioning to approximately 15 hours per month as needed once the app is completed to the client's satisfaction. Their primary responsibility will be to ensure the client's mobile app and website are up-to-date, compliant, and fully functional.
The app will essentially be a react website embedded in Ionic, making knowledge of Laravel, React, PHP and Ionic important to the success of the project.
This startup invested some time and money into this project and needs a developer to bring it to fruition. Client has good relationship with the previous developer who is available to help launch the project and advise regarding setting up the local development environment, which they estimate will take about 10 hours for a qualified candidate. The former developer will make himself available to field questions or provide clarification as needed.
Start Date: As soon as they find the right person
Duration: Part-time, Contract
Location: Milwaukee, WI preferred (Remote option available for the right candidate)
Compensation: $40-$45/hour, commensurate with experience while maintaining client's budget parameters, paid as W-2 employee of Talimer
Key Responsibilities/Project Goals:
Set up development environment and build front- and back-end of a mobile application
Work within an Agile methodology with very brief daily scrum's with you and the founder, and weekly sprint reviews
Troubleshoot issues with Instagram API connection
Add features that flag accounts to indicate whether they are a paid or unpaid account to determine whether their content gets included in emails/promotions
Add "on" and "off" features to admin dashboards
Determine if accounts are paid or free, then include posts in emails for the appropriate accounts
Update Android app to target Android 14 (API Level 34)
Gather data on page and email click through rates, providing automated insights/reporting to client dashboards
Work on ongoing projects and improvements as needed
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Laravel and React (PHP) critical
Experience working with server-side technology for mobile app development
Familiarity with mobile app development frameworks, particularly Ionic
Working knowledge of Vagrant and Ansible
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Proactive verbal communication, documentation and transparency around time estimations and deliverables
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with localized, community-driven platforms
Previous work with small businesses or startups
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with remote stakeholders
