Apparel Product Developer for Coutura LLC dba Luly Yang Design Group

Our office is located in the beautiful downtown corridor of Kirkland, WA - right on the waterfront. This role will provide product management support for the overall apparel product development process for branded, uniform, and special projects. This candidate will be working with the Product Management, Design, Technical Development, and Production on the apparel creation process from brief to final product approval. You will manage the product creation workflow through data management and effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

General
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team and suppliers throughout commercialization, meeting timeline, and maintaining related status trackers for visibility.
  • Ensure seamless interaction to deliver a product line that is designed, developed, and manufactured to meet product requirements and calendar timelines.
  • Accurate record keeping and tracking of product components in data base and established trackers.
  • Key Partnerships/Interface: Design, Product Development, Technical Design, Production, Supplier/Manufacturing

Product Development
  • Build and maintain Product Development portion of technical product specifications (BOM, and associated technical images as needed).
  • Develop Fabric, Trims and Styles with multiple sources and facilitate approval during product development stages.
  • Review and approve lab dips, trims, and qualities, involving production team and manager when needed.
  • Execute against product development milestones and calendar due dates with preproduction tracking and reporting.
  • Develop products that are engineered to cost standards.
  • Create lower-cost alternatives that uphold integrity of the intended product design.
  • Continually support innovation in materials, technologies, construction, and applications.
  • Initiate material/product testing and confirm protocols with quality team during development and beginning production stages.
  • Ensure product is engineered to meet intended end use and quality requirements, through our testing and validation process (raw materials, garment, and in the field testing).
  • Maintain the fabric swatch library and development sample racks.
  • Administer the resourcing process of current products and new programs as required.

Experience/Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in product development in garment / product manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in apparel product related roles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • High accountability, problem-solving, detailed oriented, ability to meet deadlines, adaptable to a rapid changing environment.
  • Experience working with domestic and international manufacturers.
  • Proficiency in the following:

o Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

o Adobe Illustrator

o Blue Cherry ERP system, and/ or PLM programs is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn, eager to take on new projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year DOE and annual bonus
