We are a local heavy civil general contractor with that has been in business over 75 years serving the Georgia community and providing top of notch construction for a variety of projects. We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team!
Position Overview: The Estimator is responsible for providing accurate and timely quantity takeoffs and estimates for various heavy civil projects including excavation, grading, highways, and utilities.
Key Responsibilities
Reviewing plans, specifications, addenda and other bid documents for all assigned projects to ensure that all requirements are understood.
Gathering and researching information as necessary to provide accurate estimates
Conducting quantity takeoffs and developing estimates for projects.
Identifying and obtaining further information from designers, clients, and subcontractors, as necessary.
Assembling bid proposals, completing bid forms, and submitting final documents.
Assisting in the development of value engineering alternatives.
Assisting with post bid analysis and cost/value management.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in estimating and/or construction management.
3 years of heavy civil construction experience including but not limited to Heavy Highway, Bridge, excavation, grading, and utilities.
Thorough knowledge of estimating tools and techniques.
Familiarity with blueprints, drawings, and other documents.
