Position Summary

Thales requires a Process Team Coach to direct the short- and long-term activities of production to meet company objectives and goals while continually meeting customer demands.  As a Process Team Coach, you will establish an environment of continuous improvement to production processes that results in advances in quality, yield, productivity and lower costs.  You will also support employees in continual improvement by acting as a resource in applying and teaching problem-solving and meeting-facilitation skills and facilitating team empowerment.

           

Key Areas of Responsibility


  • Directly manage the daily shift activities of all employees to ensure that the customer’s needs and revenue plan are met. Responsible for work flow management and for providing leadership and direction to production cell leads and operators.

  • Assist in the establishment and enforcement of appropriate performance standards specific to each operation and department wide. Create an atmosphere conducive to employee participation and development that encourages all employees to perform their best and meet established performance standards.

  • Accountable for meeting productivity, yield, and other manufacturing standards on a shift by shift basis and working together with the other supervisors to meet daily & weekly standards. Required to manage daily modifications to job schedule, reacting to production delays and priority changes without sacrificing established manufacturing standards.

  • Identify, evaluate, and initiate preventative and corrective actions on any factors that impact the manufacturing process, including: quality issues, scheduling and production issues. Make independent decisions to facilitate improvements and change while working as a team with supervisors of other shifts ie: the status of work-in-progress, job priorities and schedule changes along with quality and production problems.

  • Cultivate a work culture free of discrimination and built upon an attitude of mutual acceptance and safety. Facilitate cooperation, teamwork, open communication and employee participation in the running of the business. Review salaries/wages of others and recommend changes as appropriate.

  • Recommend new hires, promotions, transfers, demotions, disciplinary action and terminations of employment. Conduct performance reviews. Establish a unit budget and have sole accountability for the results as measured against the budget.

Minimum Qualifications


  • 3 to 5 years of practical experience in lead or supervisory role managing production processes and hourly employees.

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education /experience

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills with the ability to manage conflicts

  • Effective at motivating and influencing others

  • Ability to assess own leadership style, strengths, and weaknesses and apply a situational leadership approach

  • Six Sigma problem solving skills

  • Must be able to perform responsibilities of position with or without reasonable accommodation.
