DESCRIPTION

Our Chicago, IL office is seeking to hire a full-time CADD Technician I to support our Structural Engineering Team. As a part of our Structural Engineering Team, you will work directly with the design engineers on a wide variety of transportation and rail projects from conceptual to final design phase for local, state, and federal agencies as well as freight rail clients. You will interact with bridge, track, roadway, drainage, and other discipline team members across the organization during plan development. Your role will be to develop structural drawings for bridges and other transportation structures, along with civil track drawings, that meet our company, project, and client CADD standards. From engineering notes, record plans, sketches, and/or detailed drawings, you will, in coordination with a project engineer:


  • Prepare engineering drawings for preliminary and final plan sets.
  • Work closely with drafting and engineering teams to ensure coordinated designs.
  • Apply standard drafting/design principles and theories to complete assignments.
  • Verify the accuracy, compatibility, and coordination of plans/details

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree in engineering technology or a related discipline.
  • 0-3 years of bridge and structural CADD experience.
  • Proficiency in Microstation Connect, OpenRoads Designer, OpenRail Designer, and other Bentley Softwares.
  • Experience with Autocad and other Autodesk Software.
  • Experience with project setup and organization within Projectwise.
  • Experience working on bridge/transportation projects.
  • Use Microsoft Teams collaboration software.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Bluebeam.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

PROFESSIONAL PREFERENCES

  • Experience working on transportation projects for Class I Freight Railroads
  • Experience with OpenBridge

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $47,819.20- $70,262.40 per year This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
